Covers politics of religion in Muslim societies; history, ideology, and practices of key individuals, movements, and institutions; case studies of political Islam in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the West; plurality and diversity of political expression in Muslim world; nature of democracy in Islam; and Islamic state. May not be repeated for credit.
